Acknowledgement of Country

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners and custodians of the land on which we live, work, gather and worship, and we pay our respects to their elders past and present. We acknowledge that the Church throughout this Synod meets on land for which First Peoples have ongoing spiritual sovereignty and custodianship, and we commit ourselves to respecting Country and to working for a more just future together. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people should be aware this website may contain images, voices and/or videos of deceased people.

The connection between people of different backgrounds enriches us. We have 22 Culturally and Linguistically Diverse congregations and worship in 14 languages other than English.

First Peoples

The Uniting Church in Australia acknowledges we live and work on Aboriginal land. In 2010, we became the first church in Australia to constitutionally acknowledge Aboriginal and Islander people as the First Peoples of Australia.

We are an ethical funds manager which grants most of its operating surplus to social justice advocacy and community programs. Formerly known as UCA Funds Management, U Ethical is an autonomous social enterprise of the UCA.
